The Body Shop was established by Anita Roddick in 1976 when she opened the first store in Brighton as a beauty and well-being store. In the beginning, the company had only 25 items to offer to its clients. The international expansion of The Body Shop started as early as 1978 when the first store in Belgium was launched. By 1984, there were 138 shops, 87 of which being outside of the UK. The company continued to open new stores around the world and it was acquired by L’Oréal, a French company of the same kind, in 2006. L’Oréal kept The Body Shop for more than a decade until 2017 when it was purchased by Natura, a Brazilian company. Today, The Body Shop operates more than 3000 stores in over 65 countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa. It has more than 10,000 employees that work for over a thousand types of products.

The Body Shop is looking for people whose retail expertise is second to none, to share responsibility with the Store Manager to drive the store and team to deliver retail excellence and strong sales results.
As an Assistant Store Manager, you will coach the team to achieve exceptional customer service standards in partnership with the store manager. You will oversee the operations and commercial practices of the store, both front and back of house, whilst maintaining harmony and efficiency on the shop floor.
The Assistant Store Managers are encouraged to lead and drive a customer focussed store experience on a day to day basis. You should help to ensure the development of consumer loyalty and awareness to help build The Body Shop brand.
It is desirable for the Assistant Store Managers to be able to learn and use the internal systems and to be able to analyse performance to help manage the commercial side of the store. In the ever-changing world of retail, The Body Shop needs people who are able to monitor and manage change. The Assistant Store Managers must be able to help control and meet sales/performance targets. The company is looking for individuals with strong relationship skills who are confident with coordinating between customers, the team and the manager.
